A Few Things For You

Hey everyone.  I just woke up, it’s 11:30 in the a.m.  And I’ve wanted to do this for a while but didn’t quite know how to present it, so I guess me being lazy and about to hop in the shower is the best way to give you a list of the websites that I frequent.  Clearly there’s “tumblr” and “myspace,” but there is a short list of others that I enjoy perusing due either to my interest in the band or because it makes me laugh.  Below is that list with their proper links and a brief description of its content.  I hope you all find them as interesting as I do.

1)  Birdmonster :  The ever amusing and hi-larious blog written by bassist Justin Tenuto.

2)  Ted Leo/Pharmacists : The not as frequently updated as it should be blog of Ted Leo, political rocker of today, highly influenced by bands such as The Clash, Billy Bragg, The Jam, Stiff Little Fingers and a whole bunch of others.

3)  Nationstates :  The website based on Max Barry’s novel Jennifer Government in which you create your own country and shape the country’s socio-political regime through the “issues” that you’re given each day.  All text, gets boring after a while, but it kills time and can be fun.  If you do choose to play, head on over to “nothing to brag about” the region created by yours truly.

4)  The Mountain Goats :  The ever eloquent and not as fancified writing of John Darnielle for his band.  He also has a personal blog called “Last Plane to Jakarta” which I recommend checking out, but since I don’t do it on a regular basis, it will not be posted here.

5)  Garfield Minus Garfield :  As I’ve already posted, GMG is a good daily chuckle and should be checked out if it hasn’t been already.

6)  Brad Neely on Super Deluxe :  I posted some of his stuff early on and I know he doesn’t update as much as I’d like him to, but his videos are usually bizarre and entertaining and often have upliftingly comic messages in them.

7)  Breakfast of the Gods :  An online comic as both a tribute and a satire to the graphic novel/comic book world using characters from childhood breakfast cereals in a fight to save the world of Cerealia.  Dark humor with a twist of nostalgia.

8)  HCwDB :  Self-explanatory and my favorite site of all of these as it can get me rolling in laughter on a consistent basis.  Be sure to check out the comments threads.

Anyways, that’s about it.  If I think of any others I’ll be sure to add them on later, but for now I must start my day and all that jazz.  Enjoy.
